Bad Breath
Bad breath or halitosis is the exhalation of unpleasant smells in our breath. Most cases have their origin in the mouth, because of bacteria in the oral cavity, especially on the tongue, in addition to pieces of food debris. If we neglect our oral hygiene, we are giving the bacteria that cause the bad smell the space and the perfect food they need to develop, so if you think you might be suffering from halitosis you should use a tongue cleaner every day.
What causes halitosis?
- Poor dental hygiene
- Eating foods that contribute to halitosis
- Xerostomia or dry mouth
- Poor tongue hygiene
WHAT ARE THE SYMPTOMS?
Halitosis manifests itself in the form of an unpleasant smell on the breath and it is mainly due to the accumulation of an oral biofilm, in other words, the bacteria that live in our mouth.
Noticing that our own breath is bad can be difficult, and therefore we usually detect the problem as a result of some other symptoms: a dryness in the mouth, plaque around our teeth, a white layer on the tongue, post-nasal dripping or a bad taste in our mouth.
